Paying homage to the Gerald Genta-designed Ingenieur SL from 1976, the distinctive stainless steel case of this contemporary watch will ensure that it will remain a collector’s favourite well into the future. It combines the 1970s styling of Gérald Genta’s design with the dimensions and materials of a modern 21st-century men’s watch.
This watch comes with its original box, papers and guarantee card. The strong outlines of the case along with the complimentary design of the bracelet give it a marked presence on the wrist. The IW3227 was the first of the “new” Ingenieurs. With its 42mm stainless steel case, eye-catching stainless steel bracelet and bold dial, the IW3227 turned heads the moment it went on display. There are a few light marks or scratches to the case and integrated bracelet but nothing that detracts from the look or how the watch feels whilst wearing it. The black dial with sapphire crystal makes for easy legibility and when it catches the light, sometimes one can get a beautiful blue hue to the watch’s look, as can be seen in some of the photos.
The 44-hour calibre 801110 is in excellent condition having been checked over by our watchmaker. Remember we also always provide a 12-month guarantee on all the watches we sell.
The piece wears very comfortably on the wrist. And as with everything IWC, the fit and finish are spectacular. Ultimately this is a proper successor to the classic Ingenieur SL; and will make a great addition to anyone’s collection.
