Description

This Watch

In 1904, Louis Cartier was asked by his friend Alberto Santos-Dumont, a Brazilian aviator and early pioneer of flying machines, to make a watch that was visible without taking his hands off the controls.  In 1911, Cartier made the Santos available to all.

You can’t get more stylish than this round, 33mm, stainless steel case with cabochon stone crown and stainless steel bezel with screw detailing.  The sapphire crystal protects a clean white dial with Roman numerals marking the hours.  Date window at 3 o’clock position.  Blued steel handset surrounded by the inner minute track.   Screw-in case back houses the Cartier Automatic Cal 049, which was based on the ETA 2892-2 21 jewels 28,800 beats per hour.  Fitted on its integrated stainless steel bracelet with screw detailing and signed folding clasp.

This watch is the full package as it comes with its original box and papers.
